Understanding this phenomenon, APA endeavors to bring together unique learning experiences inside and outside of the specialty.

Education. Beginning with the SuperConference, APA sponsors multiple learning opportunities for its association members. This includes an average of two specialty workshops per year and extends to other resources and educational opportunities offered through APA and its sister company, QA3.

Tacit Knowledge. It is commonly understood that real world experience is much different than textbook knowledge. APA associations seek to continuously stimulate member discussions on real world experiences complemented by input from nationally known industry experts.

Technique. APA supports the learning of techniques by bringing to the association some of the leading experts in each respective niche. In many cases these experts are members of the respective association.

Social Strategies. While a professional may be highly proficient in their field, how does the client know? In addition to learning from your peers, APA exposes you to a broad assortment of leading professionals which provide a rich resource for your personal conduct.

Business Strategies. Frequently the professional is highly adept in providing the client with insight, knowledge and ideas, yet may lack the training or experience to turn this into a strategy for success. APA both provides training in this area as well as offering headquarters staff support to develop a complete Business Plan.

News & Information. APA makes considerable use of technology to help keep members updated on events in their field. The most vital technology is the listserve where members make daily postings to offer information and advice or ask technical questions. Other technology includes a monthly e-Bulletin and a website for each niche association.
